Meet Dr. Eugene Heslin
Eugene Heslin, M.D.
Family Medicine
Medical School: University of Texas Medical School
Residency: Mid-Hudson Family Health Institute (New York)
Board Certified: AM Bd. Family Medicine
Why I became a physician:
I enjoyed my masters in chemistry work, but desired to work with people and communication over laboratory discipline.
Favorite hobbies:
Climbing
Last book I read:
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
Why I like working with HAHV:
It’s an opportunity to be part of an innovative and new health care delivery system that provides quality, cost efficient care with high patient satisfaction.
Why I live in the Hudson Valley:
Excellent place to live, plus near NYC but not too close.
Greatest professional accomplishment:
The greatest professional accomplishments are the day to day respect and support that I receive from my patients. Those who come back to say thank you, those who I help get through it (whatever it may be) and those who celebrate their 106th birthday. Those are the real accomplishments the other accomplishments are secondary: building a successful practice, frontlines at 9/11, participating in a hospital merger.
Greatest personal accomplishment:
Completed climb of El Capitan, Yosemite, with some friends. “Over eons, rivers and glaciers somehow carved 3,000 feet into solid granite to create Yosemite Valley. The nuances of the Valley form spectacular rock formations, for which Yosemite Valley is famous.” –from their website.
