Why I became a physician:
To serve others and to do good in my community and society.

Why I chose Infectious Disease?
During my Residency, I worked and volunteered at Homeless Shelters and Community Centers prominent with HIV disease. So for my Fellowship, I focused on Infectious Disease.

Favorite hobbies:
Master Bread Maker, hiking in the Andes, Pyrenees, Alps and the Rockies, boulangere, bicycling, painting, photography.

Favorite Food:
Molecular Gastronomy and Roasted Chicken.

Last book I read:
STRENGTH IN WHAT REMAINS, by Tracy Kidder. A boy from war torn Africa travels to NYC, no money and does not speak English. Studies in Columbia and then Harvard. Takes his medical knowledge back to his people in Africa. Worked with Paul Farmer.

Why I like working with HAHV:
They are supportive of innovative ideas to expand medical care for our community.

Why I live in the Hudson Valley:
There are lots of outdoor activities, and so many beautiful mountains, lakes and rivers.

Greatest professional accomplishment:
“It’s the simple things. . . the small moments of making a difference in peoples’ lives.” And the development of the Wound Care Center.

Greatest personal accomplishment:
Hiking Mont Blanc Trail from France to Switzerland to Italy. Lasting 10 years in monastery and then Celebrating 20 years of Marriage.
