Philip Mehl Receives ACHCA Facility Leadership Award
Kingston, NY – Jul. 2, 2010 – The American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) honored Philip Mehl, Administrator of Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville, N.Y. with the 2010 American College of Health Care Administrator’s Facility Leadership Award. The award was presented on Monday, May 17, 2010, during the awards banquet at ACHCA’s 44th Annual Convocation and Exposition in Philadelphia, PA. He was joined by his colleague Christina Jones, RN, Director of Nursing.
Mr. Mehl was one of 31 recipients nationwide who received the Facility Leadership Award in 2010. This annual award recognizes administrators of nursing homes that have meet superior health care standards. Selection of those receiving the award was based on reported skilled nursing facility resident data from the MDS that reflects the care and services provided. In addition to meeting stringent patient care standards, the same administrator must have filled the role throughout the award year.
“It is honor to lead a team of professionals like the ones at Mountainside. Their dedication in providing the most expert and individualized care to each resident and their willingness to try a new approach is inspiring,” said Philip Mehl, Administrator, Mountainside Residential Care Center.
“We are all very proud of Philip’s success. He possesses a fine combination of compassion and leadership which greatly benefits our residents and staff,” said Edmond Morache, Executive Director, Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center.
