Wound Healing Center

Chronic wounds cause complex medical problems, including pain, loss of function, and compromised quality of life. The HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley Wound Healing Center’s team of board-certified physicians, certified wound and ostomy nurses, and certified hyperbaric technologists provides comprehensive services and treatment for wound care and ostomy services.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) which is an essential part of some chronic wound treatment plans. HBO can activate the body’s ability to heal itself when wounds have not healed within a certain amount of time.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is most commonly used in the treatment of individuals with:

  • Diabetic wounds that are slow to heal
  • Chronic bone infections and necrotizing skin infections
  • Radiation and crush injuries
  • Compromised or failing skin grafts or flaps
  • Aggressive bacterial skin infections

Ostomy Services

  • Pre-operative ostomy site marking for the optimal individual fit.
  • Peristomal skin evaluation and treatment recommended.
  • Stomal care, including problem solving for leakage, rash, odor or ulcerations.
  • Stomal equipment evaluation and supply ordering information.
  • Peristomal hernia belt fittings for prevention or treatment of peristomal hernia.
