Assisted Living

At Mountainside Residential Care Center — Quality Care Comes First.

Mountainside Residential Care Center, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), helps its residents live the fullest lives they can. Currently, Mountainside Residential Care Center received a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which rates nursing homes nationwide that participate in Medicare or Medicaid. Nursing Home Compare, a resource on the Medicare website, gives each facility a rating between one and five stars. The ratings come from a combination of health inspections, staffing and quality of resident care measures at each specific nursing facility. CMS calculates a star rating for each of these three categories, along with an overall facility rating, with a five-star rating indicating a facility’s exemplary care and physical environment.

The award-winning 82-bed enhanced care facility is regularly rated among the best nursing homes in country by Medicare and has been listed among the best in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Nursing Homes” issue each year for more than a decade.

Mountainside is not simply a top-rated nursing home. It is also setting the pace for safe, outstanding care through COVID-19 and in a post-pandemic world.

Mountainside is:

  • Licensed by the New York State Department of Health
  • Certified by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
  • A charter member for the Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes.

The award-winning center is widely recognized for its:

  • Dedicated staff to assist qualifying residents with the Restorative Nursing Program which has nursing interventions that promote the residents’ ability to adapt and adjust to living as independently and safely as possible.
  • Advanced technology with a comprehensive electronic medical record that improves the resident’s quality of care.
  • Collaboration with all members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure the best care possible for each resident.
  • Consistent staffing so residents see the same caregivers (registered nurses, licensed practical nurses or certified nursing assistants) almost every time they are on duty to help residents feel comfortable by receiving care from caregivers they know and who understand their personal preferences and needs.

With a friendly, professional staff, the good company of interesting neighbors and so many things to see and do, residents say they feel right at home at Mountainside.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): Maintaining a Safe and Effective Care Environment

A safe and effective care environment is our highest priority, and Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) hospitals and medical practices have undertaken the necessary steps to protect our patients, visitors and workforce as the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation evolves.

Visitation

Open visitation, please do not visit if you are not feeling well.

wab PCR test, or “polymerase chain reaction test,” is widely considered the “gold standard” for diagnosing COVID-19 because it’s the most accurate and reliable test.
A positive test means you likely have COVID-19. A negative test means you probably did not have COVID-19 when you were tested.

Who should get a PCR test for COVID-19?
Get tested:
When will you get your PCR test results?
You should receive the results as early as 24 hours after your test is completed, but it may take several days, depending on how long it takes the sample to reach the laboratory and how many other samples are in the queue to be tested.

Please read our Pandemic Emergency Plan (PEP).  Our PEP is available upon request.
