Ways to Give

Donate now through Network for Good

Gifts to the Margaretville Health Foundation make a difference on multiple levels. The direct beneficiaries are the current and future patients of the Hospital and residents of Mountainside. But each gift has an even greater impact as it reaches out to touch the lives of thousands of people in our community, of visiting friends and family and vacationing visitors. A community with quality healthcare is a community with a future! Gifts will help create world-class facilities with sophisticated technology capable of delivering the highest quality health and residential care services in Margaretville. By making a gift, you will be playing a vital role in strengthening the safety net of compassionate, critical care for our community.

One Time Donation

One time donations helps enhance patient-care services, support medical staff training, helps with the purchase of new technology and sustain community based services and programs.

Arrangements for a monthly donation can be made through your banking institution at no cost to you. Your monthly contribution can be designated for specific funds or to wherever the need is greatest. The donation amount may be changed or cancelled by the donor at any time.

Semi Annual Appeal

Annual Fund donations provide donors the opportunity to make an unrestricted gift to meet the greatest financial needs of the hospital and residential care center, or a restricted gift to support the programs that are most important to them such as specialty areas of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center.

Matching Gifts

Many corporations have matching gifts programs designed to support their employees’ charities of choice. You can contact your corporation’s human resource department to find out about your companies matching gift programs.

Tribute, Honor and Memorial Gifts

An Honor or Tribute Gift is a special way to for you to honor a loved one, a friend, or a business associate, celebrate a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion. Or, you can remember a special person who has passed on through a Memorial Gift donation. There are endless ways to publicly show how much you care and appreciate an individual who you value and hold dear, all while supporting Margaretville Campus programs.

Planned Giving

Planned giving enables donors to give to worthy causes, such as Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center, through stock, life insurance, charitable trusts, bequests through wills, and retirement assets. These gifts help the hospital meet the growing needs of the community as well as benefit the donor by reducing estate taxes and income tax liability. The stability of an Endowment Fund, for the future of our healthcare facility, is an essential goal of the Foundation.

Planned Giving

Donate now through Network for Good

The Margaretville Health Foundation has established a Planned Giving program offering numerous financial and tax advantages to those who participate. A planned gift is any major gift, made from the assets of a donor- in lifetime or at death- as part of your overall financial and estate planning. Our goal is to create an endowment fund that sustains the hospital and nursing home for the long term. Our focus is for maintaining, improving and innovating long term sustainability for the Margaretville Campus. The Margaretville Health Foundation’s planned giving program is something that you can create to benefit you and your family today and establish a legacy, while also ensuring that vital human care programs are available for generations to come. There are 3 types of planned gifts:

  • You can establish a fund that pays you income for life. Upon your demise, the hospital will receive the fund
  • You will also immediately get a tax deduction for the value of the gift
  • You can establish a fund that will carry your name forever

Planned giving is a unique and often overlooked tool that not only allows our supporters to ensure that Margaretville Health Foundation’s work will continue into the future, but also helps donors to fulfill both their charitable and financial objectives. You should consult with your legal and financial advisors if you are interested in participating in the program. Endowment Fund A financial endowment is a donation of money or property that will support Margaretville Health Foundation on an ongoing basis. MHF will fund an endowment with the gifts you donate. Assets may include but are not limited to tax-deductible gifts, transfers of securities, bequests through wills, trusts and matching grants. Through Planned Giving the Margaretville Health Foundation will build a strong and dynamic endowment that will not only support the current needs of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center but also ensure a thriving future. Know that your legacy will be something that continues to give because the principle stays intact.

  • Outright gifts that use appreciated assets as a substitute for cash
  • Gifts that return income or other financial benefits to the donor in return for the contribution
  • Gifts payable upon the donors death

The endowment fund principal will never be spent. It will be managed for growth. The expenditures will come solely from the income of the endowment and will go towards needed equipment, services and programs for the hospital and nursing home.
