The Stroke Center

Kingston Hospital’s Stroke Center provides a full continuum of stroke treatment and care to get patients back to, as much as possible, a normal pre-event lifestyle. By using a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, Kingston Hospital Stroke Center aims to provide faster, more effective care which enhances patient outcomes, prevents complications, shortens the time before a patient starts moving, promotes early rehabilitation, and reduces the patient’s stay in the hospital. Kingston Hospital Stroke Center provides:

  • Immediate emergency care
  • Rapid assessment of a patient’s condition who show stroke symptoms
  • Comprehensive care throughout hospitalization
  • Multidisciplinary treatment, including, but are not limited to, medical, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy, as well as social work services
  • Nurses trained in stroke care, including stroke certification through the American Heart Association and NIH stroke assessment scale certification.
