Kingston Hospital Auxiliary

For more than 119 years, the Kingston Hospital Auxiliary has been an important and active unit of Kingston Hospital. Dedicated to supporting the hospital’s missions, contributing funds and creating a tradition of volunteerism, the Auxiliary of Kingston Hospital has raised more than $1 million dollars to support projects, programs and equipment needed throughout the Hospital.

Founded in 1891, the Auxiliary of Kingston Hospital began as the Ladies Aid Society, which raised thousands of dollars for a new medical facility. The selfless traditions of this organization are still going strong today, for instance, the Auxiliary runs the Hospital Gift Shop and the Happy Apple Thrift Shop. Also, the auxiliary sponsors the Hospital Opportunities for Service by Teens called HOST.

Hospital Opportunities for Service by Teens (H.O.S.T) is designed for youths between the ages of 14 and 18 to encourage volunteerism and explore careers in the health care. This program places teens anywhere in the hospital.
