Wellness Committee
The Wellness Committee, commissioned by the Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center Auxiliaries, works in collaboration with the Central Catskills Chamber of Commerce, the Delaware County Cooperative Extension and other organizations concerned about the good health and well being of the citizens of the Central Catskills.
The Wellness Committee maintains the Marian Connell Wellness Education series, funded in part by The O’Connor Foundation and established through a bequest by Marian Connell, a local academic, community activist and life-long Margaretville Hospital supporter. Topics for the series are selected by the members of the Wellness Committee and generally reinforce the focus of national educational programs. Recent lectures have included:
- Women and Heart Disease presented by Aneta DiMova, M.D.
- Diabetes presented by Eugene Heslin, M.D.
- Arthritis presented by Dr. Richard Moscowitz.
The series is videotaped by Fred Margulies of Toucan Productions, and the most recent videos are included below. Copies of the lecture DVDs are available to the public at no cost.
