First Baby Born at HealthAlliance Hospital in 2019

HealthAlliance Hospital's fist baby of 2019 arrived at 8:20 p.m. on January 1.

Connor Thomas Nugent was born to Renay Nugent of Bloomington. He weighed 7 pounds 4.8 ounces at birth and was 20 inches long.

Renay delivered Connor naturally, vaginally, under the supervision of Certified Nurse-Midwife Beth Saltzman, a member of the HealthAlliance Hospital medical staff.

HealthAlliance Hospitals have a tradition of playing Brahms's "Lullaby" over the overhead paging system of both hospital campuses when a baby is born. The recorded music, which all visitors and staff can hear, is performed on a celesta, a keyboard instrument known for its bell-like tones. HealthAlliance played the lullaby in honor of Connor at 8:53 p.m. Tuesday.

Renay Nugent, 35, of Bloomington, holds Connor Thomas Nugent, born at HealthAlliance Hospital: Broadway Campus Jan. 1.
