The Pastoral Care ministry seeks to provide spiritual and emotional support to all patients and their families regardless of their religious affiliation. In assessing the spiritual needs of all patients, chaplains offer a compassionate presence through attentive listening, provide for their spiritual practices, offer pastoral counseling and respond to their unique needs. When appropriate, prayer is offered. The Sacrament of the Sick and Eucharist are also provided.
A chapel / meditation room is available for quiet reflection and/or spiritual comfort. Services are made available at the Mary’s Avenue Hospital Chapel. Spiritual literature, prayer cards/books, bibles and rosaries are provided by the department.
We welcome visiting clergy and other members of the faith community. With the permission of the patient or family, a patient’s spiritual leader will be notified of their admission to the hospital.
