Comprehensive Breast Care Services

The Fern Feldman Anolick Center for Breast Health is part of the comprehensive breast care program at HealthAlliance Hospital: Mary’s Avenue Campus. Our integrated practice brings together a multispecialty cancer treatment team of experts to ensure you get the best care available. The experts include breast health specialists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, surgeons, plastic surgeons, pathologists, radiologists and a skilled support staff — all working as a multidisciplinary team to provide whole-person care for women. The center is widely recognized for its medical excellence and integrative approach to cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Breast Imaging at the Center for Breast Health at HealthAlliance Hospital: Mary’s Avenue Campus includes full-field digital mammography, the most technologically advanced equipment available for the early detection of breast abnormalities, and breast ultrasound. The Center offers varied and extended hours that include evenings and weekends.Mammograms can be scheduled during the following hours:

Monday, Thursday, Friday: 7:15 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Tuesday: 7:15 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.
Wednesday: 7:15 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
First Saturday of the month: 8 a.m. – noon
(additional weekends as needed)

Breast Ultrasonography and Ultrasound Breast Core Biopsies are performed by registered diagnostic medical sonographers and read by board-certified radiologists. We offer this service from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. Appointments can be made by calling 845.334.3088. We handle immediate cases on an individual basis.

The Breast Patient Navigation Program ensures seamless, coordinated care among your physicians, diagnostic tests and cancer treatments, while offering education, guidance and support as you and your family cope with the psychosocial and emotional challenges cancer can bring. Our Certified Breast Patient Navigators can be reached at 845.334.3099.

The Department of Radiation Oncology’s Ulster Radiation Oncology Center combines the quality and capability of state-of-the-art equipment with the expertise and compassion of board-certified radiation oncologists. Our specialists design treatments with pinpoint accuracy, ensuring tumors get the most effective dose while minimizing radiation to healthy tissues. Our regular hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. For appointments or to speak with one of the physicians call 845.339.7700.

The Oncology Support Program seeks to ensure no one faces cancer alone. Our compassionate professionals and volunteers offer support to patients, their families and friends. Experience prevention, wellness and healthy-survivorship programs, including support groups, art and healing programs, tai chi, yoga and qigong. Many activities take place in our homelike Reuner Cancer Support House, 80 Mary’s Ave. in Kingston. For information, please call 845.339.2071.

Our Tumor Board, part of HealthAlliance’s American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer accreditation, provides regular multidisciplinary reviews of new patient cases to determine the best treatment plan and ensure coordinated care. The board includes medical, surgical and radiation oncologists, as well as specialists from radiology, pathology, spiritual care, clinical nutrition, oncology support, oncology nursing, patient navigation, quality and safety. Certified cancer registrars document all patient histories, diagnoses, treatments and statuses.

The Sister Louise Garley Oncology Unit at the Mary’s Ave Campus provides outpatient and inpatient chemotherapy through referrals from all oncologists. For further information, please call Nurse Manager Rosa Keane at 845.334.4818.

HealthAlliance Clinical Nutrition Services provides oncology nutrition counseling to assist patients with setting and reaching goals of proper nutrition before, during and after treatment. for more information call 845.334.3088.

The Department of Pathology, certified by the American Board of Pathology and staffed by pathologists from Affiliated Pathology Services, provides accurate, timely and cost-effective pathology services to patients and physicians. We maintain the highest levels of quality to ensure the most accurate diagnostic services. The department is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but a pathologist is always available on call. Please contact them at 845.334.4929.

The Pastoral Care Department seeks to offer a restorative and healing presence through attentive listening, prayer and meditation.
