Executive Team


Michael Doyle, MD, MBA, CPE
Executive Director and Chief Medical Officer of HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley

Doyle will provide leadership and work collaboratively with hospital teams at HealthAlliance Hospital: Broadway Campus and HealthAlliance Hospital: Mary’s Avenue Campus in Kingston, Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville, and all members of WMCHealth, while overseeing areas such as operations, quality, patient safety, and medical services. He will work to improve the health of the community and advance an integrated delivery system in which patients have seamless access to care in the Hudson Valley communities where they live.

Doyle brings to HealthAlliance and WMCHealth more than 27 years of healthcare experience focused on hospital leadership in military and civilian hospitals in the United States and overseas.

Doyle most recently served as the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Doyle is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, completing his medical education at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He also received an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University in Washington. Doyle served in the U.S. Army, providing clinical and operational leadership at military hospitals in Washington, New York and abroad in Germany, as well as in combat hospitals in Afghanistan and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Doyle retired from the military in 2013 at West Point, where he served as Deputy Commander of Keller Army Community Hospital. In 2013, Doyle joined St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital as Associate Medical Director.

Doyle and his wife of 29 years, along with their three children, live in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Doyle enjoys all that the Hudson Valley has to offer including running, biking, hiking, kayaking, swimming, and skiing.


Joseph C. Marsicovete
Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Marsicovete oversees HealthAlliance’s regulatory compliance processes in addition to clinical departments such as Emergency Services, Imaging, Laboratory, Physical and Occupational Therapy and Respiratory Therapy. He also provides leadership for administrative departments and functions such as Quality, Risk Management, Patient Safety, Patient Satisfaction, Infection Control, Emergency Management, Dietary, Nutritional Services, Environmental Services, Facilities, Security, Corporate Compliance, Human Resources, Education and Pastoral Care.

Mr. Marsicovete came to HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley® in July 2010. Previously, he had been with Saint Clare’s Health System in Denville, N.J., as the Vice President of HR, Regulatory & Administrative Services. Prior to joining Saint Clare’s in 1995, he served in senior leadership positions in several diverse industries, including high-tech manufacturing, banking, telecommunications and consulting. He has extensive experience in Human Resources as well as performance improvement and organizational development methodologies in complex, multi-site organizations. He strongly believes in collaborating with all members of the team to accomplish goals and objectives.

Mr. Marsicovete earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications from Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J. and a Master of Arts in Communications from the University of Maryland.


Mark Pohar
Executive Director of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center

Mark Pohar joined HealthAlliance as Executive Director of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center in May 2016. Mr. Pohar is an effective, high profile healthcare executive with over 30 years of experience in a wide range of healthcare organizations from acute care and long term skilled rehabilitation, to behavioral health.

Prior to joining HealthAlliance, Mr. Pohar worked at Riverside Health Care/St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, NY for over 40 years in various administrative and senior leadership positions throughout the organization, including, Vice President of Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing, Vice President of Administration and Administrator of the Michael N. Malotz Skilled Nursing Pavilion. Over his career at St. John’s Riverside and Michael N. Malotz, Mr. Pohar was responsible for restructuring operations and service delivery to maximize efficiency and productivity, elevating patient satisfaction scores and star ratings that resulted in enhanced patient satisfaction and quality care.

Mr. Pohar elevated his facility and was recognized as a Top Performer by the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA).

Mr. Pohar received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Pace University in Pleasantville, NY. He received a certificate in Long Term Care Administration from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Mr. Pohar is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives and several other organizations. In 2014, Mr. Pohar received a New York State Assembly Citation for “exemplary service in health care.” Mark sits on several boards in his community. He is active in his village and church.


Jane Ulrich, MBA, BSN, RN, CNOR
Senior Director of Nursing

Jane Ulrich, MBA, BSN, RN, CNOR, joined the Executive Team at HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley in May, 2017. As Senior Director of Nursing, she serves as the leader for developing and implementing programs for the nursing service at HealthAlliance in support of the mission, goals and objectives of the organization.

Mrs. Ulrich is responsible for the coordination of patient care and interdisciplinary processes that facilitates and expedites quality outcomes across the continuum, and oversees adherence to nursing practice standards. Mrs. Ulrich has over 29 years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse working in an acute hospital setting. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Mount Saint Mary College and attended Marist College to complete her Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in healthcare. She is a lifetime member of the Association of Perioperative Nurses and is on the Board of Directors for the Mid-Hudson Chapter.
